Last night, or rather this morning in the early hours, I was gripped with an undying urge to make something and finish it. So, scavenging through my stash, I found a single skein of bright orange yarn. Where did it come from? I have absolutely no idea. But it has been put to good use. My original plan was to make long mittens that resembled bright orange traffic cones, then realizing I probably wouldn't have enough yarn for mittens, I decided to make an attempt at their distant cousin, the fingerless mitts. Once I'd finished the first mitt I immediately sent a picture to one of my friends and he had the kindness to tell me that my hand looked like Nemo.
So there you are, my Cautionary Clownfish fingerless mitts, finished in one night with a mysterious skein of bright orange yarn and photographed in the first light of day this fine summer morning.
